Delete your PhotoShare account

You can delete your PhotoShare account and its data at any time. There are two ways to do it. If you only want to remove part of your data, see deleting data without deleting your account.
1. In the app (immediate)
- Open PhotoShare.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon on the home screen).
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation, choose whether to delete the photos you uploaded, and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. You do not need to sign in again to confirm.
If an upload is in progress the option is temporarily disabled — wait for the upload to finish or cancel it first.
2. By email
If you no longer have the app installed, send a request to ehwogns1@gmail.com from the Google account address you signed in with, with "account deletion request" in the subject. We use the sender address to verify the request, and we process it within 30 days.
What gets deleted

| Trips you created | Deleted entirely, for every member, along with all photos and face data in them. PhotoShare has no ownership transfer, so a trip cannot outlive its owner's account. The app lists the affected trips by name before you confirm. |
| Your membership in other people's trips | Removed. The other members keep their trip. |
| Photos you uploaded to other people's trips | Your choice. The confirmation dialog has a checkbox, ticked by default, that deletes them. If you untick it, the photos stay in those trips until each trip expires (4 days after it was created by default, up to 7 days if extended). |
| Face vectors from your photos | Deleted with the photos. If you chose to keep the photos, the vectors are kept with them and removed when the trip expires. |
| Your nickname in each trip | Deleted with your membership. |
What is kept, and for how long
- Nothing that identifies you personally. We hold no email address, name or profile photo of yours outside the sign-in identity that is deleted.
- An internal reference to your (random) user ID may briefly remain inside other members' face records in trips you had joined. It is a random string that is not shown anywhere and cannot be linked back to you, and it disappears when that trip expires — at most 7 days after the trip was created.
- Aggregate usage statistics already collected (counts and speed ranges) stay in Google Analytics under its retention setting, currently 2 months. They contain no user identifier and cannot be traced back to your account.
Deleting data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your PhotoShare account to remove data. Each of these takes effect immediately, from inside the app.

| A whole trip you created | On the home screen, press and hold the trip (or tap its menu button) and choose Delete trip. Only the person who created it sees this option. | The trip is deleted for every member, along with every photo and face vector in it. |
If you cannot use the app, email ehwogns1@gmail.com from the Google account address you signed in with, describing what you want removed. We use the sender address to verify the request and process it within 30 days.
Your sign-in identity (Google account link and user ID) is not removed by any of the above. To delete that, delete the account itself using the steps at the top of this page.
